Timezone & Battery optimisation
Three improvements in this release — all focused on making KairosEye work better when you're on the move.
Timezone Support for Calendar Events
If you travel across time zones, you know the problem: your 9 AM meeting in New York shows up as 9 AM on your watch even though you're now in London, where it's actually 2 PM. Your calendar is technically correct but practically useless. KairosEye now handles timezone-aware events properly. Events display in your current local time, regardless of where they were originally created. Cross a time zone, and your schedule adjusts automatically — no manual correction, no confusion. This matters especially for people who:
- Travel frequently for work
- Have meetings with teams in different time zones
- Use shared calendars with international colleagues Your watch should show you what's happening now, in your time. Now it does.
Optimized Battery Usage
Battery life is always a concern with feature-rich watchfaces. Every data refresh, every screen update, every sensor read costs power. With this update, we've introduced smarter power management for devices running Connect IQ 4.0+ or with sufficient memory capacity. The improvements include:
- Reduced refresh frequency for elements that don't change often (weather, calendar)
- Smarter sensor polling — activity data is sampled only when needed
- Lighter rendering — fewer full-screen redraws, more targeted updates The result: KairosEye now runs closer to the battery profile of a basic watchface, while still showing all your data. You shouldn't have to choose between information and battery life.
Smarter Location Sync via Mobile App
Previously, location data for weather was tied to your watch's GPS — which isn't always available or accurate, especially indoors. Now you can set your location once in the companion mobile app, and it syncs automatically to your watch. This means:
- More accurate weather data, even when GPS is unavailable
- No manual location entry on the watch's tiny screen
- Automatic updates when you change your location in the app Simple, seamless, and always up to date.
These three features share a common thread: KairosEye should just work, wherever you are, without draining your battery or requiring manual adjustments. We're getting closer to that goal with every release. — The KairosEye Team
